EmailJanice@casachirilagua.orgA large part of what we are doing in Alexandria, and the surrounding community, is trying to unite the body of Christ through involvement with Casa Chirilagua. It is our hope that the Lord will use us to connect the immigrant community and the local church body. We are looking for opportunities to share our story in services, sunday school classes, and small groups. Please contact Dawnielle if you would like her to meet with your church leadership or have her speak at a gathering at your place of worship.
Emaildawnielle@casachirilagua.orgHere is how it works. You invite 10 friends who would be interested in Casa Chirilagua and might be encouraged by our stories. You will provide the location, a group of friends, and a some nibbles (brunch, lunch, dinner or coffee and desserts…whatever your heart desires). We will show up, get to know your friends, share what is happening in our lives and community, and offer an opportunity to get involved. If you are interested, please contact Dawnielle to schedule a date for “Story for 10″.
Emaildawnielle@casachirilagua.orgMake a difference in the life of a child in Arlandria. Mentors will meet with their student for one hour per week to read, provide homework assistance, and most importantly, build a relationship with their child. By being a caring, compassionate, and consistent mentor, you can help a child come closer to reaching their full potential. Mentors generally meet with students in the student’s home or at the library, depending on the comfort of the mentors, student, and parents.
Emailemily@casachirilagua.orgAre you available from 3:00 to 5:30 PM any day of the week? Make a difference in the life of a child. We need people to help kids with their homework and read with them for the 2011-2012 school year. Even if you can only make it for the second hour, let us know. Homework help and reading happens from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Our 1st-3rd grade students meet Tuesday through Friday and our 4th-5th grade students meet Mondays only due to other school sponsored tutoring programs. We need people of character to volunteer with these students, being able to support them in their academic and spiritual development.
